Second day of VTB Capital “RUSSIA CALLING!” Investment Forum concludes
The second day of the VTB Capital “RUSSIA CALLING!” Investment Forum in Moscow concluded today. The event saw a number of successful investment meetings take place as well as a positive dialogue initiated about investment opportunities in Russia and the CIS between investors and business leaders.
The plenary session on “New horizons of growth – how to achieve”, opened by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, formed the keynote event of the day.
During his speech, Vladimir Putin shared his views on the future of economic development in Russia. He also held a Q&A session with forum participants.
Other notable session speakers included Cristina Stenbeck, Chairman of the Board of Investment AB Kinnevik; Lawrence Yau Lung Ho, Chairman & CEO, Melco International Development Limited; and Andre Santos Esteves, Chairman of the Board, CEO of BTG Pactual. Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board, moderated the session.
Experts discussed a number of issues concerning Russian and international markets, including strategies for sustainable growth in Russia and international markets, particularly in Latin America. Delegates also discussed the government’s role in driving forward the investment growth model and the importance of labor productivity.
An additional panel, moderated by Herbert Moos, CFO at VTB Bank, on “The Future of Financial Systems: Russia and the World”, focused on the development of Russia’s economy and its banking sector, state-market relationships, financial regulations, among other relevant topics.
This session brought leading experts together to discuss these issues. These speakers were Alexei Moiseev, Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation; Alexey Simanovskiy, First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia; Petar Chobanov, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria; Mikhail Zadornov, President and Chairman of the Management Board, VTB 24, Former Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation (1997–1999); and Alberto Verme, Chairman of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Banking at Citibank.
