VTB Capital took part in the 3rd Annual Russia & CIS Investment Summit

VTB Capital took part in the 3rd Annual Russia & CIS Investment Summit in Hong Kong on the 5th and 6th of July.

The heads of corporations, investors, economists and asset managers from Russia, CIS countries and Asia-Pacific region took part in the event. During the two-day summit experts have discussed the investment prospects in Russia and the CIS and also the matters of legislation and economic policy.

VTB Capital executives – Damian Chunilal, CEO Asia, Alexey Zabotkin, Head of Investment Strategy, Alex Metherell, Head of Natural Resources, and Alex Moroz, Infrastructure Capital & Project Finance, - spoke on ‘Russia’s time of change: Opening markets and democratizing growth’ plenary session of the conference.

In the course of discussion the experts of VTB Capital and the participants of the session discussed the prospects of the economic development of Russia as the strategically important party of European and Asian markets system, the aspects of strengthening the interstate trade links, and the possibilities of joint infrastructure projects. Special attention was devoted to the summit of APEC that will take place in Vladivostok in September 2012. APEC is the world largest economic association that generated more than 57% of global GDP and 48% of global trade.

Commenting the results of the summit Damian Chunilal said: «Economic cooperation between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region is deepening . Trade between the two is growing rapidly and this is expected to support increasing financial market flows. The event has confirmed the growing interest in Russia from Asian corporates and investors. VTB Capital is playing a leading role in facilitating this».
