On 5th-6th July, VTB Capital took part in the 2nd Russia – Capital Raising and Investment Summit in Hong Kong.
During the event, the topics covered included Russia’s five year privatisation plan, the link that Hong Kong will play between Russia and China, capital raising opportunities in Asia for Russian companies and investments into the Russian economy and its current state. More than 250 representatives were in attendance from the largest Russian companies, leading international banks, financial companies, investment funds, sovereign wealth funds and financial regulators.
Asia is a strategically important market for VTB Capital. The company’s target is to become a partner of choice for international clients willing to invest in Russia and the CIS. Russian companies currently have good potential to raise funds at Asian equity and debt capital markets.
Neil MacKinnon, Global Macro Strategist at VTB Capital, delivered a presentation "Russia as part of the global community: a macroeconomic outlook". Tim Demchenko, Head of Private Equity and Special Situations at VTB Capital, delivered a presentation at the "Private equity and hedge fund strategies" session. Andrey Solovyev, Global Head of DCM at VTB Capital, gave a presentation at the "Investing in Russian debt" session.
VTB Capital became the partner of the event for the second consecutive year.
