On November 24, 2009 III Corporate Forum, arranged by National Council on Corporate Governance, took place in Moscow. The Forum attracted top-managers and board directors of the leading Russian companies, officials, corporate governance analysts, corporate secretaries and heads of departments relating to corporate governance.
The participants have discussed various issues including the role of corporate governance in lessening credit crunch consequences, reforming corporate governance system, ways of increasing efficiency of communications with investors, shareholders and media. Olga Podoinitsyna, Managing director, Global Head of Communications & Marketing Department at VTB Capital introduced a presentation “Corporate Communications in Crisis Period: Managing Risks”.
Olga Podoinitsyna noted: “Corporate communications become even more important in crisis period, as financial instability tends to spur on public interest to market leaders. Besides, information disclosure procedures become tougher. Proper information strategy and competent management of information risks enable to react correctly to information disclosure requirements and smooth over potential negative effects.”
