David Brawn is appointed Chief Risk Officer of VTB Capital

VTB Capital, Investment Business of VTB Group, has appointed David Brawn as Global Chief Risk Officer. David will be based in London and reports directly to Yuri Soloviev, Global CEO of VTB Capital.

In his new position, David Brawn will be responsible for risk evaluation and enhancing and strengthening an effective risk management system for the company.

David Brawn joined VTB Capital from Merrill Lynch International, where he was the Global Head of the Product Valuations Group from 2007 to 2008 and as Head of Market Risk Management for the EMEA region from 2004 to 2005. From 2005 until 2007, David managed the Traded Risk Team in the Risk Review Department of the Financial Services Authority in London. From 2000 to 2004, he was the Global Head of Emerging Markets and Local Currency Trading at Commerzbank Securities in London. Prior to that from 1996 to 2000, David Brawn held numerous top-level positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette International Ltd, such as Senior Vice President of European Emerging Markets Derivatives, Head of International Risk Management and Head of European Equity Derivative Trading. From 1994 to 1996, David worked as a Senior Manager of Global Markets department at Banco Santander. From 1987 to 1994, he worked at Bankers Trust Company and held the position of a Vice President at the global investment bank. David Brawn graduated with honors from Brighton Polytechnic (now University of Brighton) with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is also a winner of Institute of Civil Engineers (Southern Association) Prize.
