Following VTB Capital forum: RUSSIA CALLING, on April 23rd VTB Capital conducted the round table debate in association with The Banker - a leading Financial Times publication. The debates took place a the Financial times Headquarters . The participants of the debates included VTB Capital top managers: Yuri Soloviev , President and Global CEO of VTB Capital; Alexey Yakovitsky, CEO of CJSC VTB Capital; Herbert Moos , CEO of VTB Capital plc.
The topic was “Financing Russia’s companies: new approaches for new times”. The agenda of the debates featured such discussion points as corporate capital and funding needs in Russia; the availability of international capital; engaging with investors; cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
In presence at the round table there were top executives of several Russian companies as well as leaders of investment companies focused on Russia : Ilya Yakubson, CEO of Dixy; Karl Johansson, Managing Partner, Moscow, Ernst & Young; Dominque Fache, Chairman, Manager and General Director of ENEL; Jon Edwards, Head of CEE and CIS for the London Stock Exchange; Mattias Westman, Head of Prosperity Capital Management.
The event resulted in a very fruitful and lively discussion which enabled the audience to learn about the views of the CEOs on such issues as: how keen Russian companies are to proceed with IPOs in the global crisis environment , new sources of credit to replace US and Western European institutions, what needs to be done to retain or recapture the interest of investors in Western Europe, Is the time right to find opportunities for overseas acquisitions.
