VTB Capital holds annual business breakfast at the World Economic Forum in Davos, January 21, 2016
Today, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, VTB Capital hosted a meeting with leading international investors. The theme of the event is "Unlocking possibilities, responding to challenges", and was held in open discussion.
The meeting was attended by more than 70 representatives of the international and Russian investment community from 15 countries, including Yury Trutnev, head of the Russian delegation at the World Economic Forum; Nicos Anastasiades, President of Cyprus; Alexei Kudrin, Professor and Dean at School of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St. Petersburg State University, Russia's Finance Minister (2000-2011); Shashi Ruia, Chairman and Founder at the Essar Group; Lucy Peng Lei, CEO at Ant Financial Services Group; Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman at Heirs Holding Ltd; Jean-Pierre Thomas, President at Thomas Vendome Investment, and other international experts.
During the discussion, the participants raised a number of key issues for the Russian and global economy, assessed the last year’s results, and looked at the forecasts for the global financial markets development. The experts discussed the economic consequences of a protracted period of very low oil prices, the fiscal sustainability of petroleum exporters, and the Chinese economy and its impact on the markets of other countries. The discussion also touched upon Russia-US relations, including the Fed policy and the prospects for US monetary policy, as well as the current situation in Europe, in particular the migration crisis and its consequences, and the role of Russia in the global financial markets. The event was moderated by Richard Quest, the anchor for CNN.

The event is attended by representatives of the Russian government and by senior figures from international corporations and investment funds with significant influence over global economic trends.

VTB Capital was awarded “Best Meeting” and “Most innovative financial communications” for the unique open debate format of this year’s meeting with leading international investors at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
