VTB Capital will be participating in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum taking place on 18-20 June 2015. VTB Capital is a partner and active participant in the Forum. Every year VTB Group holds an extensive program of meetings with investors, clients and partners at SPIEF.
VTB Capital has represented VTB Group at the Forum since 2009. VTB Group’s speakers will participate in the main sessions of the Forum.
This year’s St. Petersburg Economic Forum comes at a critical time for the global economy, as investors and policy makers begin to focus their attention back towards Russia.
VTB Capital is particularly proud to host the panel session "Global finance as a commons – guarantor or threat to stability?" Among the participants of the discussion are leading international and Russian experts, including Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board; Alexei Moiseev, Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation; Shamshad Akhtar, Executive Secretary at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP); Jean-Pierre Thomas, President at Thomas Vendome Investment; Jin-Yong Cai, Executive Vice President and CEO at International Finance Corporation (IFC); Richard Werner, Professor at University of Southampton. The session will be moderated by John Fraher, Executive Editor for International Government at Bloomberg.
Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board, will also take part in the panel session "Financing Growth, Infrastructure And Investment, Anti-Corruption, Emerging Markets Priorities", which will be held in the framework of the B20 Regional Consultation Forum. In addition, Andrei Kostin will participate in the round tables "Russia – Italy: Historical Ties Too Strong To Sever" and "Business Perspective On EU – EAEU as a Formula For Cooperation."
Yuri Soloviev, First Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank and Chairman of VTB Capital holding companies Board of Directors, will speak in the panel session "Transformative Infrastructure: Realizing Mega Projects". During the event, key Russian and international experts will discuss the features of major infrastructure projects in the global economy.
Alexei Yakovitsky, Global CEO at VTB Capital, will also take part in the session "The Big Shift to Domestic Sourcing of Capital", where participants will discuss the development of domestic capital markets as a source of corporate financing in Russia.
Another key session at the Forum will be the flagship “Economists’ roundtable: a five-year prognosis – the end of growth”, which will be attended by Neil MacKinnon, Global Macro Strategist at VTB Capital. The participants will discuss monetary policy of the largest world economies and their impact on the investment climate in emerging markets and the overall stability of the global financial system.
Traditionally, the main venue for communications of VTB Group at the Forum will be the VTB Capital stand, where traditionally the bank signs a number of landmark agreements.
