VTB Capital participated in the II Annual Vedomosti Conference on municipal solid waste (MSW) management, which was held in Moscow on October 30.
Andrei Kiselev, Deputy Head of Infrastructure Capital and Project Finance at VTB Capital, made a presentation at the conference discussing various aspects of structuring and financing waste management PPP projects with a reference to the proposed MSW processing facility in Levashovo, St. Petersburg. "The project will generate cash flow necessary for senior debt service and shareholder returns from the MSW processing fee and potential sale of recyclables, electricity and heat. The government of St. Petersburg is responsible for ensuring supply of MSW to the facility", - said Andrei Kiselev.
The participants of the conference showed keen interest in discussing mechanisms in structuring profitable waste processing projects, as well as the role of governments in creating attractive investment opportunities for recycling municipal solid waste.
The event attracted more than 100 delegates, including representatives of industry regulating authorities, top managers of industrial companies, investment and commercial banks, project and engineering organisations, as well as financial investors.
The conference was organised by Vedomosti.
