Russian national infrastructure award ROSINFRA has named the construction of toll bridges across the Kama and Buy rivers in Udmurt Republic the best Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) project in its road infrastructure category.
VTB Capital acted as financial advisor and investor, VTB Bank also provided funding for the project. The bridges will provide year-round access to settlements in the Kambarka region of the Udmurt Republic, strengthening ties between the Central, Privolzhsky and Urals regions.
ROSINFRA also named the reconstruction of “Pulkovo” airport the best project in the airport category. The Northern Capital Highway consortium, including VTB Capital, Fraport AG and Copelouzos Group, received the award.
The reconstruction of Pulkovo airport has already been recognised with a number of awards. In 2013, KPMG named Pulkovo Airport PPP one of the 100 most innovative global infrastructure projects that make cities liveable and sustainable. Pulkovo was the only Russian project on the list.
Oleg Pankratov, Head of Infrastructure Capital and Project Finance at VTB Capital, said: “The ROSINFRA awards demonstrate the important role of VTB Capital in the development of PPP projects in Russia. The construction of new roads and airports will provide a solid footing for future economic growth. I am confident that VTB capital will continue to develop its Infrastructure Capital and Project business both in Russia and internationally.”
The ROSINFRA award was established by the Russian PPP Center in order to determine the key trends in infrastructure development in Russia. The award is an effective tool for evaluating and analysing the design and quality of infrastructure projects. It covers all industries where PPPs are active and enables the assessment of the competences and experience of PPP actors.
