Moscow, 6 June – In pursuance of VTB’s strategy of further strengthening its position in the investment banking services market, the Investment Business of VTB Group continues to expand its top-rated expert team.
Timofey Demchenko has been appointed Head of the Private Equity and Special Situations Department. Dmitry Skryabin has been appointed Head of Energy and Utilities in the Research Department.

Timofey Demchenko has over 10 years of private equity and corporate experience. His impressive career in leading international and Russian companies includes successful activities in equities markets. He has participated in over 15 major transactions in private equity across Western Europe, the USA and Russia. In addition to these transactions Timofey lead deals in the international M&A market and the creation of strategic alliances between global corporations. Timofey possesses excellent qualifications from CIMA and SFA as well as a degree in Economics.
Dmitry Skryabin is a top-rated analyst in the utilities sector with over seven years of industry experience and profound industry insight. Dmitry was named the #1 analyst in his sector in the “All-Russia research Team 2007”, survey by Institutional Investor, and became the top Russian utility analyst of 2006, according to RBC. Due to his solid professional skills, he has been a member of the Audit Committee for RAO UES’ Board of Directors and on the Board of the Wholesale Generating Company OGK-6 from 2004-05.
Timofey Demchenko joined VTB from Deutsche Bank Ltd. (Moscow) where he had been head of private equity and special situations since 2007. Previously, he had worked as an international business development executive and managing director of Siemens AG and IBM ltd in London (2002-07). From 2000-02, he was a private equity investment officer in TD Capital Partners, a private equity fund in London. From 1997-98, Timofey held the position of Emerging Markets equity trader with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London. Prior to that he was an equity trader for Renaissance Capital in Moscow (1996-97).
Timofey graduated from Moscow State University of Railways in 1995. He holds a Masters in Finance degree from the London School of Economics (1999) and participated in Siemens International Management 1-year executive development program in Munich, Boston, Istanbul, London and Vienna. Timofey Demchenko holds a Ph D. in Economics from the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Social and Political Studies.
Dmitry Skryabin joined VTB from UniCredit Aton where he was a senior equity analyst in Power Utilities since 2005. Prior to that, he occupied the position of planning manager in the Energy Directorship of Evrazholding (Moscow) (2004-05). Previously, Dmitry was a senior equity analyst in Utilities with FINAM Investment Holding in Moscow (2003-04). He began his career in JSC “Energosetproject” in Moscow in the capacity of senior engineer before becoming an economist (2000-03).
Dmitry Skryabin graduated from The State University of Management (Moscow) with a degree in power industry management in 2001.
